Hello! I’m Forum Modi
The (queer) Forum that studies (queer) forums.

Background
I’m an Informatics Ph.D. Student at Indiana University Bloomington exploring how queer people of color use social media to connect, navigate their identities, and find resources. My research is rooted in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), with a particular focus on Queer HCI, combining my background in computer science with a passion for creating more inclusive digital spaces.
Research
I’m especially interested in how thoughtful design can improve the experiences of marginalized groups within the queer community. In future projects, I want to explore how social media can be powerful tools for self-discovery, helping queer, trans, and other marginalized individuals learn about themselves, their bodies, and their identities in meaningful ways.
Teaching
Alongside my research, I’m deeply passionate about teaching. I believe in creating supportive, inclusive learning environments that empower students to explore and grow. I’ve been a teaching assistant for an Introductory Python course for six semesters, helping students build a strong foundation in programming. Teaching is one of my greatest passions, and I strive to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity and growth.
